Sexual Health for Men and Women

By | October 5, 2019

I have some very good news for those who are interested in sexual health. There’s an important new resource, simply called Ro, that is becoming a leader in the field of gender-specific medicine. I’m a member of their Board of Advisors along with some of the world’s leading experts on men’s and women’s health.

Are you a man concerned with any of these problems?

I just returned from their headquarters in New York City where I met with the founders, Zachariah Reitano, Rob Schutz, and Saman Rahmanian along with staff and other members of the advisory board. It was a true Summit where we learned about all aspects of Ro and their programs to help people.

“We’re the patient company,” says Zachariah, Z for short. “We’ve all had more than our fair share of bad experiences with the healthcare system,” says Z. “The main reason is that it wasn’t built for you. It wasn’t built with your concerns, your family, and your needs in mind. As a result, patient care is fundamentally broken. Physicians are overburdened and crave new tools to treat patients in a more flexible format.”

Z went on to explain that “because patients don’t control the flow of money, they don’t always have the access to high-quality care when and where they need it and at a price they can afford.” We met for two days and got an in-depth understanding of how all the parts of Ro work together to offer everyone an easier, less expensive, more hassle-free, way to stay healthy.

“Ro puts you in control of your health. We’re patients, just like you, building technology to make healthcare accessible, affordable, and maybe even enjoyable,” Z told us. “Today, we enable you to connect with a doctor and get treatment when and where you need it. Tomorrow, we aspire to be your first call for all your healthcare needs.”

You can learn about the company and read about all the Advisors here. I was please to meet a number of colleagues I knew and many I had not, including:

  • Dr. Pepper Schwartz, PhD. acclaimed author and psychologist.
  • Karen Tandy former head of the DEA.
  • Dr. Serena McKenzie, ND, Medical Director of the Northwest Institute for Healthy Sexuality
  • Dr. Debby Herbenick, PhD, MPH, Professor of Human Sexuality at Indiana University.
  • Dr. Michael Eisenberg, MD, Associate Professor of Urology at Stanford University Medical Center
  • Dr. Michael Perelman, PhD, Director of the Human Sexuality Program, NY Presbyterian Hospital
  • Dr. Michael Reitano, MD, Ro Physician in Residence.

And many others.

When I returned, I received an email from a colleague, Mark Sandusky, whose staff had recently done a review of Roman on his website, ManlyWellness.Com. In an article, “A Comprehensive Review of Roman: It’s App, ED Medications, and More,” author Jake Senko says, “Roman is a cloud-based pharmacy that is developed to address common men’s reproductive health issues at home. Thus, you can receive the treatment at the comfort of your doorstep with the help of their efficient services.”

Senko concludes saying, “If you need professional medical advice on male reproductive health, Roman provides you with a virtual model of getting a diagnosis and personalized treatment plan. This cuts down the need to visit a doctor in a clinic. Even if you don’t qualify for telemedicine, an online visit will give you an insight into your health condition. It’s no loss to you since you’ll be refunded the 15-dollar online consultation fee.”

You can read the entire, in-depth, Roman review for a more detailed analysis. Since the review was completed, Ro services are now available in all 50 states. You can learn more about Ro here. You can learn more about my own work with gender medicine and men’s health on my blog. I look forward to your feedback and comments.
